Okuni Release

September 10 2025

While our design and product teams are busy crafting exciting new features (to be unveiled in the future), this release, affectionately named Okuni, shines a spotlight on the progress made by our engineers.

Their focus has been on strengthening the core aspects of the software: improving the functionality of existing features like billing, orders, and discounts, making them more reliable for you.

Transaction & Order Improvement

All transactions are now linked to specific orders, making it easier to track which students and families have booked particular lessons and classes.

  • Combined orders are now available, allowing consolidation of:

    •  Multiple students

    • Multiple enrolled classes

This provides a cleaner, more consolidated view of family purchases and makes it easier for customers to pay multiple instalments in a single payment. We’ve also introduced a new “Next Payments” column, so you can easily track which payments are coming up.

About Okuni

Okuni was a 17th-century Japanese dancer and the founder of the Kabuki art form.

In 1603, she formed a troupe of female dancers who performed dances and light sketches in Kyōto. This style, a lively departure from the slow, deliberate Noh drama, became highly popular.

Okuni is said to have dressed as a young man for some performances. Her energetic and unrestrained dance dramas spread throughout Japan, inspiring other female dance troupes and eventually giving rise to Okuni Kabuki.
