About Sophie Boisvert
Sophie Boisvert began her dance training at age 2 at a competitive dance studio. In high school, she attended Main Street School of Performing Arts, where she graduated with an Honors Arts Endorsement in Dance. Sophie then went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota in 2019, where she got her Bachelor of Arts in Dance & Media Studies. Shortly after, her acclaimed documentary, "You Just Do: Dancing with Chronic Illness," was released to advocate for dancers with hidden disabilities. Sophie has had the privilege of performing in works choreographed by international artists including Eko Supriyanto (Indonesia), Michel Kouakou (Ivory Coast), and many more. She has performed in and choreographed/directed music videos for several artists including VIAL and Christine Hoberg (Platinum artist, featured in Grey's Anatomy).
Experience In The Dance Industry
Sophie has enjoyed a career as a dance teacher for over 10 years and has also worked as co-director for competition programs. She has won countless choreography and high point awards. She emphasizes child well-being and age-appropriate training/choreography in her work. She did 5 seasons as a professional dancer for ClassicalFusionDance Company in Phoenix, AZ, as well as 2.5 seasons performing as a Charlie's Show Dancer.
How Many Years Spent Teaching?
Sophie has enjoyed a career as a dance teacher for over 10 years and has also worked as co-director for competition programs. Sophie also owns her own entertainment company and is no stranger to what goes into producing shows.
